My quest to learn django - Installation

I have been toying with a couple of online ideas for a while and have been a bit lazy to implement them. I think my biggest problem has been to translate these ideas into prototypes. I am too lazy to go and hunt for a free Web 2.0 techie to write code for me, so I have finally decided to adopt the do it myself approach and learn django.

My wife uses a Mac and after much struggle, I seem to have figured out how to get Django running. I have python 2.3 and recently got Macpython 2.5. Besides I downloaded and installed mysql. I realized that I would need to run a bit of basic SQL to survive.

Currently I am struggling with getting the basics right.
